The historic ‘Passchendaele’ grazing property at Chahpingah was sold at auction in Toowoomba on Friday for $5.8 million.<\/p>\n

The 1553ha tick-free property was marketed by Kellco Rural Agencies, from Dalby, which described it as \u00a0“a rare opportunity to acquire a grazing property with over a century of family ownership within a proven breeding and backgrounding landscape. Supported by established pastures, exceptional water security and efficient cattle handling infrastructure, the property is ideally suited to continue as a high-performing breeding operation or expand into a broader production enterprise.”<\/p>\n

‘Passchendaele’ has been in the hands of the same family since World War I veteran Arthur Bassingthwaighte selected it in 1921.<\/p>\n

Also auctioned on Friday was the adjoining 2416ha tick-free property, ‘Strathmore’, which sold for $10.75 million.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Strathmore is a highly productive, tightly held South Burnett grazing and irrigation asset delivering scale, secure water and proven performance. Supported by unmetered irrigation, extensive natural water and premium infrastructure, the property is optimised for high-output beef production,” Kellco said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
