Ladder leaders Saints secured the first berth in the South Burnett Cricket Association’s senior competition Grand Final with a strong win over second-placed Kingaroy Services on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Services won the toss in the Qualifying Final, played at Taabinga State School, and elected to bat.<\/p>\n

They were all out for 133 in the last over.<\/p>\n

Openers Fletcher Black (24) and Glenn Kelly (34) started strongly but the Saints’ bowlers ripped through the rest of the line-up.<\/p>\n

Mitch Francis (3\/16 off five overs) and Keegan Wright (2\/29 off eight, including two maidens) took key wickets for Saints.<\/p>\n

James Packer (2\/1 off 1.1)\u00a0 took the last two wickets.<\/p>\n

In reply, Saints overtook the total in the 23rd over for the loss of just two wickets, 2\/136.<\/p>\n

Opener Nathan Trace (60) and Jack Mines (59 not out) were the top scorers.<\/p>\n

Clinton Blanch (1\/29) and Joshua Fearby (1\/21) were the wicket-takers.<\/p>\n

At Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy, Nanango Scorpions wrapped up their 2026 season after going down to Wooroolin Warriors in the sudden-death Elimination Final.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Warriors won the toss and elected to bat and were all out for 138 in the 37th over after a big effort by the Scorpions’ bowlers.<\/p>\n

Stephen\u00a0Kirkland was deadly, taking 5\/12 off 6.3 overs, including one maiden.<\/span><\/p>\n

Abby Burrows took 2\/12 off eight overs, including three maidens.<\/p>\n

Top scorers for Warriors were Isaac Hauritz (56 including four 4s and two 6s) and Patrick\u00a0Figg (39).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In reply, Jay Steinhardt (26) and Stephen Kirkland (38) were best with the bat for Nanango in another low-scoring innings.<\/p>\n

Scorpions were all out for 97 in the 33rd over.<\/p>\n

Wooroolin Warriors will now play Kingaroy Services this Saturday in the Preliminary Final to decide who will face Saints in the Grand Final on March 21.<\/strong><\/p>\n
