March 11, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

The recent heavy rain has forced the postponement of both the Murgon and Goomeri shows.<\/p>\n

The Murgon Show was to have been held this weekend, with a rodeo planned for Saturday night.<\/p>\n

The show will now go ahead on June 19-20.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We understand this may be disappointing, however this decision has been made in the best interests of our community, competitors, animals and volunteers,” a spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

“Entries will open as soon as possible, and the updated schedule will be available shortly.”<\/p>\n

The Goomeri Show was scheduled for March 20-21.<\/strong><\/p>\n

No new dates have been announced yet for the show although the Showgirl competition will go ahead as planned on March 20.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Local Disaster Management Group met on Wednesday morning and has moved its status to “Stand Down” as the direct flooding emergency has now passed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A spokesperson said Council, along with other government agencies, would continue their response to the community and infrastructure damage which had occurred.<\/p>\n
