FLASHBACK: Entrants in last year’s Queensland Dexter Cattle Breed Show at the Nanango Show<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The annual Dexter Breed Show will be held again this year in conjunction with the Nanango Show.<\/p>\n

The 35th show is being organised by the Dexter Cattle Association which represents clubs throughout south-east Queensland. <\/p>\n

“Since 1991, the annual Queensland Dexter Breed show has brought some of the country\u2019s best beefy little milkers to south-east Queensland,” Jilly Magee, from the Darling Downs and Lockyer Dexter Cattle Group said.<\/p>\n

“This year, more than 10 studs will compete with more than 40 animals being exhibited.”<\/p>\n

She said members of the association would be travelling from all over Queensland and as far away as NSW to exhibit.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“You can expect to see some wonderful examples of Dexter Cattle, a heritage breed which provides high quality A2 milk and some of the best steaks around.”<\/p>\n

Dexter cattle, known as a dual-purpose breed, come in three colours: black, red or dun, and can be horned or polled. <\/p>\n

Originally bred in Ireland, they were first imported to Australia in the late 1800s.<\/p>\n

Judging will start at 8:30am on Saturday, April 18, at the Nanango Showgrounds.<\/p>\n
