{"id":369601,"date":"2026-02-27T15:10:33","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T05:10:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=369601"},"modified":"2026-02-27T15:11:11","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T05:11:11","slug":"rep-working-with-landowners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2026\/02\/27\/rep-working-with-landowners\/","title":{"rendered":"REP Working With Landowners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>February 27, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Local landowners approached Wambo Wind Farm developer, Renewable Energy Partners (REP), about the possibility of a project in the Chahpingah area, a company spokesperson said on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These landowners came together to seek proposals from renewable energy developers after seeing the benefits delivered by wind farm projects in the region,&#8221; REP CEO Luke McDonald said<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Through this landowner-led process, REP was selected based on its track record developing the Wambo Wind Farm, Ulinda Park Battery and Hopeland Solar Farm, and its capability in delivering complex projects in regional Queensland.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;REP has since commenced early-stage development activities in partnership with the participating landowners.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At this early stage, engagement activities have centred around participating landowners and elected representatives in the region, but REP will be looking to commence wider community engagement activities in 2026.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;In October 2025, REP CEO Luke McDonald briefed South Burnett Regional Council, including the Mayor, CEO, Councillors and senior officers, and the State Member&#8217;s office on the proposed project.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are very fortunate to have a supportive group of local landowners and, to date, have received a warm welcome from the broader community.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Given the Chahpingah project is located to the north of the Wambo Wind Farm, which is currently under construction, REP is acutely aware of the concerns of some in the local community, having been in the region since 2018.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We look forward to working with Council and the broader South Burnett community as we develop the Chahpingah Wind Farm over the coming years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Related article: <a href=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2026\/02\/25\/wind-farm-at-chahpingah\/\">Wind Farm At Chahpingah?<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Local landowners approached Wambo Wind Farm developer, Renewable Energy Partners, about the possibility of a project in the Chahpingah area, a company spokesperson said on Friday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":300356,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[5,3],"tags":[302],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
