South Burnett art lovers had two gallery openings to choose from on Friday night, with both the Kingaroy and Wondai regional art galleries debuting their February exhibitions.<\/p>\n

And both galleries are shining a spotlight this month on home-grown artistic talent.<\/p>\n

At the Kingaroy gallery, opposite the peanut silos in Haly Street, works by former Kingaroy artist Kathleen Gogerly are featured in the main gallery while Crawford artist Tania Rae Corbet has taken over the back gallery.<\/p>\n

A collection of artworks from the Kingaroy Art Team’s own private collection are on display in the front gallery area.<\/p>\n

At the Wondai gallery, on the Bunya Highway roundabout, well-known Gordonbrook artist Romaine Undery has a large exhibition, “Time To Reflect 2026”, in the main gallery.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Works by Ballogie artist Kate Rouse are in the verandah gallery while Nanango’s Lee-anne Pumpa is exploring the “Colours Of The South Burnett” in Gallery 3.<\/p>\n

As well as the great displays of local artwork, the two galleries have something else in common this month … new paint, but not of the artistic kind.<\/p>\n

The interior of the Kingaroy Gallery has been repainted (the famous red feature wall is now blue!) while the exterior of the Wondai building has also enjoyed a new coat of paint.<\/p>\n

Both refurbishment projects were organised by the South Burnett Regional Council which owns both buildings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Kingaroy exhibitions will be on show until the end of the month. The gallery is open Monday-Friday from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and from 9:00am-1:00pm on weekends.<\/p>\n

The Wondai exhibitions will remain on show from 10:00am to 3:00pm daily until February 28.<\/p>\n

Entry to both galleries is free.<\/p>\n
