A man lost in bushland for several hours near Jimna was located and rescued by the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter yesterday.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old from Brisbane had been camping with friends at Landcruiser Mountain Park when he wandered away about 6:00am.<\/p>\n

Several hours later he phoned triple zero. He reported that he had fallen asleep and woken next to a dirt track surrounded by bushland. He was cold, dehydrated and disoriented.<\/p>\n

The AGL Action Rescue Helicopter was tasked just before 11:00am to search for the man.<\/p>\n

En route to the park’s homestead, pilot Andrew Caton spotted an orange fleck.<\/p>\n

He turned the helicopter around to investigate and saw a man lying on the ground (see video below).<\/p>\n

The helicopter’s medical crew was dropped into an open area of bush.<\/p>\n

They flagged down a 4WD and aided by directions from the helicopter overhead, were driven to the scene.<\/p>\n

The flight doctor and flight paramedic treated the man for dehydration and mild hypothermia.<\/p>\n

He was airlifted to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition.<\/p>\n
