South Burnett Regional Council has bought two new vehicles to update its weed management capabilities.<\/p>\n

The Mitsubishi Canter spray truck is fitted with two separate tanks, allowing officers to carry and apply different herbicides for varying purposes.<\/p>\n

It also has a rear boom spray and side boomless spray systems, twin hose reels for targeted application and traffic control signs and safety lighting for roadside work.<\/p>\n

The second vehicle is a new spray ute.<\/p>\n

It is equipped with a 400-litre single tank, twin hose reels, traffic control signs and safety lighting.<\/p>\n

Both vehicles also have Spray Teknix software which records weed control activities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This means Council can accurately record where treatments occur, improving long-term weed management.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe new vehicles represent a significant investment in protecting the region\u2019s natural environment, agricultural land and road corridors by allowing Council to respond more effectively to priority weed issues, while ensuring safe operations for staff and road users,\u201d Cr Deb Dennien said.<\/p>\n
