LifeFlight’s Toowoomba base was the busiest in Queensland in 2025, helping 960 people … up 6 per cent over the previous 12 months.<\/p>\n

The Bundaberg base also airlifted a record number of patients last year, helping 401 people (up 34.5 per cent).<\/p>\n

Across Queensland, LifeFlight helicopter crews completed 3857 missions (up 9 per cent), helping 8838 people (up 4.2 per cent).<\/p>\n

LifeFlight operated from bases on the Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg, Mt Isa, Toowoomba, Roma and Brisbane.<\/p>\n

Helicopter flying hours rose 10 per cent to 6116 hours and total helicopter missions increased 9.1 per cent to 3857 (including training).<\/p>\n

Overall, LifeFlight helped 1740 trauma cases (up 8 per cent) and 1122 cardiac cases (up 1 per cent).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Animal-related airlifts rose 2.9 per cent to 179.<\/p>\n

Search and rescues rose almost 10 per cent but the number of people airlifted after motor vehicle crashes fell 4.5 per cent to 799.<\/p>\n

A LifeFlight spokesperson said a patient was helped every 59 minutes.<\/p>\n

LifeFlight helicopters are tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland as part of a 10-year service agreement with the State Government.<\/p>\n

The delivery of new helicopters to Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg and Mount Isa expanded LifeFlight\u2019s capability, enabling crews to go farther and complete missions faster.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
