Western Downs Regional Council will begin an animal inspection program in the Bell region from February 1.<\/p>\n

Council rangers will be visiting properties to ensure dog owners are complying with the Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008 which requires pets to be registered and microchipped.<\/p>\n

The rangers will also be checking that owners are maintaining suitable, secure enclosures for their animals.<\/p>\n

Deputy Mayor Kylie Bourne said the program aimed at reducing dog attacks, roaming animals and pet impoundments.<\/p>\n

WDRC dog registrations expire on July 31 regardless of the month a dog is registered; however pro-rata discounts do apply.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
