an important opportunity to engage directly with local police and community leaders about community safety.

The Minister joined me to meet with representatives from the South Burnett Regional Council, alongside officers from almost every level of policing across the region.

The meeting was highly informative and focused heavily on the current crime challenges affecting local communities.

Crime and community safety were front and centre of the discussions, with the Minister outlining the Queensland Police Service’s ongoing work to address the recent surge in offending.

Local officers provided updates on current strategies, including targeted patrols, youth engagement initiatives and strengthened co-ordination between policing units.

The Minister reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the South Burnett and continuing to listen to the concerns of residents.

The visit was a valuable opportunity to ensure the region’s needs are clearly understood and that frontline police have the support they require to keep the community safe.

* *
