The new Waste Transfer Station at Maidenwell will officially open on Monday, December 22.<\/p>\n

A South Burnett Regional Council spokesperson said that prior to that date, members of the public authorised to access the facility would be provided with an access card.<\/p>\n

This could be obtained at either the Kingaroy or Nanango Council offices.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe highly anticipated access of the Waste Transfer Station by the residents of Maidenwell and surrounding areas is finally here, and I would like to acknowledge the patience the community has displayed,” Cr Linda Little said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The most significant advantage is that bins can finally be removed from the roadside and town entrance, thereby transforming the experience for locals and visitors alike into a truly uplifting one.<\/p>\n

“I look forward to witnessing the community utilise this facility responsibly and it is hoped that the illicit dumping of mattresses, tyres and household furniture will become a thing of the past.<\/p>\n

“Camera surveillance will be installed at the Waste Transfer Station, a necessary measure to identify and apprehend those responsible for illegal dumping.”<\/p>\n

The localities authorised to utilise the new facility are:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Maidenwell<\/li>\n
  • Pimpimbudgee<\/li>\n
  • Wengenville<\/li>\n
  • Neumgna<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    An access card will be required to enter and exit the facility to limit access to those whom live within the approved localities, ensuring a safer, cleaner and more efficient facility for residents.<\/p>\n

    Those who live outside of the approved areas that wish to utilise the new facility can apply and the application will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.<\/p>\n

    Only one card will be issued per property and a refundable bond of $20 will be payable.<\/p>\n

    If your card is lost or stolen an extra non-refundable charge of $40 plus a new bond fee of $20 will be payable before a replacement card will be issued.<\/p>\n

    Once a new card is issued, the stolen or lost card number will be removed from the system.<\/p>\n

    Proof of residency will be required to collect an access card, eg. a current rental lease agreement or current energy account.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
