“Rise to the possible – Driven by purpose, open to possibility, we rise to face the day”.<\/em><\/p>\n

This is the South Burnett’s “unique identity” announced on Tuesday evening at the Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s meet’n’greet, which followed the group’s AGM (see separate report<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

It was developed by consultant Sueanne Carr, from Customer Frame<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Unique Identity project dates back to April 2022 when KCCI president Damien Martoo and then-executive member Michael Sanford were impressed when they met Sueanne at a State Government-organised Small Business Friendly Conference in Townsville.<\/p>\n

The conference aimed to equip attendees with the insights and connections to foster small business success.<\/p>\n

The KCCI was keen to bring Sueanne’s customer-led transformation ideas back to the South Burnett and approached the South Burnett Regional Council for support.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sueanne had previously worked with a several councils in Victoria and Queensland.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Unique Identity project was allocated $25,000 from the $1.6 million received by the SBRC in 2022 from the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants<\/a><\/strong> program.<\/p>\n

In May last year, Sueanne facilitated an all-day “Who Is The South Burnett” workshop in Kingaroy to consult with residents and businesses to “reveal the region’s unique identity” and help it “stand out from the crowd in south-east Queensland”.<\/p>\n

Attendees were invited from across the region.<\/p>\n

The elements of identity were discussed, (see diagram below), with the attendees sharing their insights.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A survey was also shared across the region and the draft findings from the workshop distributed for feedback.<\/strong><\/p>\n

From this, Sueanne distilled the region’s unique identity, “Rise to the possible”.<\/p>\n

Sueanne told the KCCI get-together that “identity is the condition of being oneself or itself, and not another”.<\/p>\n

A workshop to explain how to incorporate the unique identity into businesses and organisations was held on Wednesday evening in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Footnote: The KCCI has previously emphasised this project was not to develop a Kingaroy identity but about “readying our region to rise”: <\/em>“Although championed by the KCCI, we have seen this as extremely important and foundational work that would support the entirety of the region. This work is a regional strategic asset. It is a template, a framework, and a language system that every town, chamber, organisation and industry can use to sharpen their own unique market position.”<\/em><\/p>\n
