November 18, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

Queensland public school teachers plan to strike next Tuesday (November 25) for 24 hours – the second strike organised during their ongoing Enterprise Bargaining dispute with the State Government.<\/p>\n

At the end of October, members of the Queensland Teachers’ Union (QTU) voted to reject an 8 per cent pay rise over three years offered by the government.<\/p>\n

The pay offer followed a short strike by teachers in August.<\/p>\n

Last week, teachers rallied after school hours – instead of striking – as part of their dispute.<\/p>\n

At the time, the QTU did not rule out holding further strikes although the Enterprise Bargaining dispute may now go to arbitration.<\/p>\n

The QTU confirmed on Tuesday that teachers plan to take protected industrial action on November 25.<\/p>\n

Schools are expected to remain open during the strike with students supervised by other staff.<\/p>\n
