Patients, staff and visitors at Kingaroy Hospital can help to raise funds for new hospital equipment by placing empty cans, bottles or popper boxes in one of the 13 “Containers For Change” bins around the building.<\/p>\n

The 10 cents raised from each recycled container will go to the Kingaroy Hospital Auxiliary’s efforts to buy equipment and furnishings for Kingaroy Hospital.<\/p>\n

At the moment, the group is raising funds for a food warming trolley.<\/p>\n

All cans, glass and plastic bottles, and liquid paperboard containers between 150mL and 3L can be recycled using the green Containers for Change bins at the main entrance, emergency department waiting area, day therapy entrance, visitors\u2019 tearoom at the end of the level one ward, near pathology and dental areas.<\/p>\n

The Containers for Change bins are the result of a partnership between Kingaroy Hospital, the Cherbourg Materials Recovery Facility and the Kingaroy Hospital Auxiliary.<\/p>\n

“Each container donated gets the Auxiliary\u00a0 10 cents closer to buying two food warming trolleys which will ensure patients can enjoy warmer meals and a hot drink during their hospital stay,” Auxiliary president Alison Murray said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

South Burnett residents and businesses can also donate their recyclable containers to Kingaroy Hospital Auxiliary at any Containers for Change facility by using the Auxiliary\u2019s code: C11439263.<\/p>\n

Alison said the Auxiliary was also grateful for the continued support of the Kingaroy RSL Club which recently donated $300 towards the food warming trolley project.<\/p>\n
