There’s been music playing since Tuesday, but the big names hit the stage for the first time at the Rotary Murgon Music Muster at the South Burnett PCYC on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The Muster, which was officially opened by Mayor Kathy Duff, made a welcome return to the grey nomad music circuit this week after a 12-month break.<\/p>\n

The first few days featured walk-up artists, many of whom were camping in the Murgon Showgrounds.<\/p>\n

There was a “Man In Black” country classics night on Thursday by Chris Callaghan but most of the invited guest artists – which this year include Allan Caswell, Brendan Radford, Lindsay Waddington and Dean Perrett – didn’t hit the stage in earnest until after the official opening on Friday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Saturday will be the big day with back-to-back performances.<\/p>\n

(Cost to attend for Saturday only is $45, payable at the door; the Sunday Gospel music session is free.).<\/p>\n

The opening ceremony began with Lloyd Back singing the National Anthem.<\/p>\n

Summer Sander then joined Amber Goldsmith on stage to sing “I Am Australian”, with Summer also singing a verse in the Yawuru language.<\/p>\n

Murgon Rotary president Cr Heath Sander thanked the four Rotarians and the handful of other volunteers who have been working hard at the Muster site since last Sunday.<\/p>\n

He said the dates for the 2026 Murgon Music Muster would be announced soon.<\/p>\n
