Queensland’s representation on the Board of eastAUSmilk will be reduced following a restructure of the dairy producer association.<\/p>\n

eastAUSmilk was formed in late 2021 from a merger of the Queensland Dairyfarmers Organisation and NSW-based Dairy Connect.<\/p>\n

Six districts were represented in the merged association, ie. four in Queensland and two in NSW.<\/p>\n

The restructure will mean there will now be three districts in each State.<\/p>\n

In Queensland, the new districts will represent producers in North\/Central, South Inland and South Coast.<\/p>\n

The former Queensland districts were North\/Central, Gympie\/Moreton\/Burnett, Darling Downs and Scenic Rim\/Lockyer Valley.<\/p>\n

A statement from eastAUSmilk said the need for the restructure had been driven by major membership growth in NSW.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new NSW districts are North, Central and South; replacing Northern and Southern.<\/p>\n

eastAUSmilk’s upcoming elections in November will be held based on the new structure.<\/p>\n

Six members will be elected for each district council as well as one Board member from each district.<\/p>\n

These elections will be held online.<\/p>\n

“eastAUSmilk has embraced the future, and the Board has agreed that for the first time ever, voting will be via an online portal. Members can still vote by mail if they demonstrate to the Returning Officer that online voting is not appropriate for them; eastAUSmilk currently has less than a dozen members who don\u2019t use email,” CEO Eric Danzi said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
