Kilkivan & District Community Care Association has handed over its popular “Kilkivan Care” service fully to Trilogy Care and Mable.<\/p>\n

A statement from the not-for-profit group said despite the closure on October 16,\u00a0 none of the services provided to the 40 clients had changed.<\/p>\n

And the KDCCA’s other services: community transport, the operation of the KilkiVAN; the Senior\u2019s Social Hub gatherings and the continued advocacy for the Rise & Shine ageing-in-place project would continue, as would fundraising to make the Church Street community centre project equipped and accessible.<\/p>\n

The KDCCA statement said the resignation of the two Kilkivan Care co-ordinators had prompted a review of the organisation’s structure.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Legal and accounting advice revealed that any co-ordinator position, filled by self-employed contractors until now, must be replaced with an employee to fulfil the provisions of the Australian Taxation Office,” the statement continued.<\/p>\n

“The association has decided that, because of the upcoming launch of the new Support at Home program, the uncertainty of adequate funding, and the complexities of the Home Care Package waiting lists, the risk and cost of having an employee is too high.”<\/p>\n

All inquiries will now be managed by Trilogy Care, which also works with services in Yarraman, Bell and Wondai.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
