Nanango’s annual celebration of rock’n’roll, The Heritage Waterhole Rocks,\u00a0 attracted a dazzling array of campervans and caravans to Nanango Showgrounds last week.<\/p>\n

Visitors started rolling in as early as last Monday, although the festival officially kicked off on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

The special dancefloor erected in the covered area at the showgrounds always attracts serious dancers from rock’n’roll clubs from across south-east Queensland, but that didn’t stop a bit of “country” sneaking in, too, this year.<\/p>\n

Line-dancing was popular as well as the more traditional “hop”-styles that require a partner (and often twirling polka dot dresses!).<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Nutbush City Limits” fans also enjoyed a turn or two on the floor.<\/p>\n

The highlight on Saturday afternoon was a fashion parade, which had a definite 1950s rock’n’roll feel.<\/p>\n

The nostalgia continued on Sunday when a classic car, hot rod and vintage caravan show was held in the showring.<\/p>\n
