Family members, friends and community members have been invited to drop into Saint Mary’s Catholic College on Thursday evening (October 9) to enjoy a “vibrant fusion of technology and the arts”.<\/p>\n

The school’s Celebration of Technology and The Arts (COTTA) is back, bringing together the South Burnett community to celebrate creativity, innovation, and artistic expression.<\/p>\n

The action will get under way at the Maryknoll Centre at 5:00pm.<\/p>\n

School Officer Matt Emery has promised a bold new format.<\/p>\n

Matt has contributed his production expertise to a range of school initiatives, including Rock on Stage, as well as several lunchtime and after-school clubs.<\/p>\n

Acting College Principal Mandy Sullivan said the new direction for COTTA reflected the College\u2019s commitment to celebrating student voice and creativity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cCOTTA has always been a special event for our community, but this year\u2019s format brings a new level of energy and engagement,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThanks to Mr Emery\u2019s creative leadership, our students are not only showcasing their talents, they\u2019re inviting us into their creative process.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matt said his goal was to create more real-world opportunities for students to share their artistic gifts with the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m passionate about finding ways to celebrate our students\u2019 creativity as often as possible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cCOTTA is a chance to bring their ideas to life in a way that\u2019s interactive, inspiring and truly reflective of the talent we have here at Saint Mary\u2019s.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Attendees will see the Maryknoll Centre transformed into an arts festival venue with galleries, live art displays, a food and coffee van, tours, music stages and a cinema that brings students\u2019 technological and artistic abilities to life.<\/p>\n

There’ll also digital showcases, collaborative artworks and performance pieces.<\/p>\n
