Three men have been charged with murder over the death of Andrew Burow, 56, whose body was found near Maidenwell on September 2.<\/p>\n

Police will allege that Mr Burow was taken from Kelvin Grove in Brisbane on August 21, driven to several locations around south-east Queensland over the next four days, and tortured.<\/p>\n

The trio then allegedly killed Mr Burow and dumped his body near Brooklands-Pimpimbudgee Road at Maidenwell.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, police charged Billy Howard, 26, from North Lakes; Anthony Perrett, 48, from Sippy Downs; and a 57-year-old Buderim man with murder, kidnapping, extortion and interfering with a corpse.<\/p>\n

The Buderim man was also charged with an extra count of torture;\u00a0Howard and Perrett were previously charged with this offence on August 27.<\/p>\n

The trio was expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Police will allege Howard and Mr Burow were known to each other.<\/p>\n

Mr Burow’s family released a statement to the media on Wednesday:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Andrew will be remembered as a caring and loving father, a loyal and generous son and brother, and someone who was always willing to give people a second chance. We will miss his enthusiasm for life, his entrepreneurial mindset, and his willingness to give ideas a go.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

At this point in the continuing process, we want to thank the Brisbane City Criminal Investigations Branch and Homicide Investigation Unit teams, who have worked so tirelessly, as well as the many other police units throughout the region who have supported them. Their professionalism, commitment and heartfelt care, together with their high level of skill, have brought us to this point of the journey. <\/em><\/p>\n

While terrible things can happen to good people, it\u2019s been comforting to experience these officers\u2019 deep care and focus on a safe and just society.\u00a0 As a family, these are values we share, and we are indebted to everyone who has worked so tirelessly in Andrew\u2019s name.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

We also thank the public for coming forward with information to the police. <\/em><\/p>\n

We encourage others to continue coming forward with any information that may help us as the process continues.<\/em><\/p>\n

North Brisbane District Detective Acting Inspector Murray O\u2019Connell said there was no scenario in which investigators were prepared to give up on finding justice for Mr Burow, whose disappearance was reported on August 24.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThis was a complex investigation, with the investigative team working around the clock to canvass a significant portion of south-east Queensland to locate Mr Burow,\u201d Det Acting Insp O’Connell said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe report which led to us locating Mr Burow\u2019s body demonstrates how important every report from media and tips members of the public report to police can be in solving a bigger piece of the puzzle for investigations.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite our serious concerns, we hadn\u2019t given up hope of finding him alive.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe thoughts of the service are with Andrew Burow\u2019s family and friends at this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n

He thanked the media and public for their assistance throughout the investigation.<\/p>\n

Investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n
