A series of “planned maintenance” power outages over the past few weeks in the Inverlaw and Taabinga areas are linked to a significant network upgrade occurring nearby.<\/p>\n

An Ergon Energy spokesperson said there was “a major customer connection” under way which required a significant upgrade to the network to meet the standards required for the increased demand on the line.<\/p>\n

“It has required the re-stringing of about 3km of powerline, upgrading of 13 power poles and installation of other network equipment,” the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

“This work is planned to be completed tomorrow (October 1).<\/p>\n

“While Ergon Energy appreciates that any interruption is frustrating, planned maintenance reduces the risk of unplanned outages which can impact the community for a lot longer.”<\/p>\n

The spokesperson reminded residents that as well as receiving alerts about planned outages in the mail, they can also sign up for free SMS \/ email outage notification service.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Customers can register for this any time at www.ergon.com.au\/selfservice<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n
