September 19, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

Blackbutt’s annual celebration of everything avocado last Saturday attracted a big crowd of visitors eager to have fun with the town’s famous fruit.<\/p>\n

You could play golf with them, juggle them, roll them, toss them, test your strength lifting bags of them … and win cash prizes.<\/p>\n

And, of course, you could also eat them!<\/p>\n

There was an avo-eating competition as well as plenty of avocado-inspired offerings at the canteen and elsewhere throughout the festival grounds.<\/p>\n

There were also trays of avocados for sale – direct from local farms – locally produced avocado oil, and lots of avocado souvenirs.<\/p>\n

A highlight of the Blackbutt Avocado Festival every year is the parade, led by mascot Alvin the Avocado who hitched a ride in a cherry picker.<\/p>\n
