during World War II and Korea<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>September 18, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Members of the Southern Cross Air Force enjoyed their annual visit to the Kingaroy Aero Modellers Society&#8217;s airfield at Booie on the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The SCAF flyers are all members of other aero modelling clubs but have one thing in common &#8230; a love of the aircraft which have been used by armed forces since World War I.<\/p>\n<p>Models flying at the weekend include aircraft from both World Wars and later conflicts, including Vietnam.<\/p>\n<p>The visit coincided with the Annual General Meeting on Sunday of the Kingaroy Aero Modellers Society.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Elected for 2025-26 were:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>President\/Secretary\/Registrar\/PR: John Box<\/li>\n<li>Vice-President: Robert Maughan<\/li>\n<li>Treasurer\/ Maintenance Co-ordinator: Darryl Dove<\/li>\n<li>Safety Officer: Mark Brazier<\/li>\n<li>Training\/Assessment and Assistant Safety Officer: Peter Somerfield<\/li>\n<li>Members Representative\/Canteen and Fun Fly event co-ordinator: Garry Jordan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>President John Box said it had been another busy year for KAMS, with\u00a0quarterly Fun Fly gatherings in March, June and December.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Competitors and onlookers enjoyed the Fun Fly competitions, which included spot landing, balloon-busting and streamer-cutting combat missions!<\/p>\n<p>Members also enjoyed visits to other clubs.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;KAMS Hilton&#8221; clubhouse was also rebuilt after a storm destroyed the first structure.<\/p>\n<p>The current KAMS membership is 28 seniors, one junior and two associate members.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_364855\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-364855\"
