Crumptons plan to do upgrades to PCA’s peanut intake and shelling plant at Tolga after taking possession of the facility in December.<\/p>\n

Sonie Crumpton, from G. Crumpton & Sons, told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> the Tolga plant would continue “as is” but with some improvements following the purchase of the asset from Bega Group.<\/p>\n

The peanuts would be transported to Crumptons’ Crawford plant where they would be graded, sorted, blanched and roasted.<\/p>\n

Crumptons signed the purchase deal with Bega last Friday.<\/p>\n

Details of the sale are commercial-in-confidence but Mr Crumpton confirmed all PCA’s assets were included in the agreement.<\/p>\n

This included all the plant and buildings in Kingaroy and PCA’s facility on Beils Road.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At this stage, Crumptons planned to make use of PCA’s roasting and blanching plants in Kingaroy and the cold storage areas.<\/p>\n

The shelling plant could be used for storage, as well as the Heritage-listed silos, if needed.<\/p>\n

Crumptons will be leasing the Kingaroy assets back to Bega until they take full possession at the end of next June.<\/p>\n
