Telstra will begin upgrading the mobile base station that covers Wondai next week, so customers can expect some service outages.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said the 4G\/5G upgrades would improve the mobile site\u2019s capacity, meaning faster downloads, smoother streaming and less congestion.<\/p>\n

However, mobile services in the area will be temporarily affected while the upgrade works are underway.<\/p>\n

From Thursday, September 18, to Wednesday, September 24, there will be a total site outage.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Thursday, September 25, there will be intermittent outages during the day to complete testing.<\/p>\n

Telstra mobile customers will receive texts advising them about the upcoming work.<\/p>\n

Landline services, NBN and satellite internet services, and mobile coverage from other providers, will not be affected.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson said Telstra customers will be able to continue to make calls and send texts during the outage by switching on Wi-Fi Calling<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“We also encourage business owners talk to their bank about connecting their EFTPOS terminals to their NBN or wi-fi connection to prevent delays in processing transactions,” the spokesperson said.<\/strong><\/p>\n
