South Burnett Saints women bowed out of the 2025 Darling Downs AFL competition after a narrow defeat in the sudden-death Preliminary Final at Toowoomba.<\/p>\n

The Saints lost 0.0-3 to 0.0-2 to the Goondiwindi Hawks at Rockville Oval on August 30.<\/p>\n

The Hawks then faced the Toowoomba Tigers in the Grand Final last Saturday, going down 4.10-34 to 1.2-8.<\/p>\n

The Grade Final of the men’s competition, also played on Saturday, was a nailbiter between University Cougars and Coolaroo which came down to just one point.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Coolaroo defeated Cougars 13.6-85 to 13.6-84 despite Cougars leading at every change leading into the last quarter. <\/p>\n

The South Burnett Saints\u2019 Presentation Night will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall on Friday, October 10.<\/p>\n

Bookings close on October 3.<\/p>\n
