Cherbourg Hornets’ player Trent Sellin is one of 32 young athletes from across the Wide Bay Electorate who have received a small Federal Government grant to help them participate in State, national or international competitions,<\/p>\n

Trent received the grant, of between $500 and $750, to assist him to take part in Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League 14-15yrs Boys National Championships.<\/p>\n

Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien today congratulated the young sportsmen and woman who received the grants.<\/p>\n

\u201cWide Bay has a strong track record in producing skilled and successful athletes, and these sporting champions deserve to be congratulated and encouraged on their sporting journey,\u201d Mr O\u2019Brien said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cost of representing Wide Bay at state or national titles can be quite high, especially when long-distance travel and accommodation is required, so this funding will help to ease that pressure on local families, and help our young athletes achieve their sporting goals.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
