{"id":364263,"date":"2025-09-04T15:39:27","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T05:39:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=364263"},"modified":"2025-09-05T22:55:20","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T12:55:20","slug":"cyclists-raise-43000-so-far","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2025\/09\/04\/cyclists-raise-43000-so-far\/","title":{"rendered":"Cyclists Raise $43,000 &#8230; So Far!"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_364264\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-364264\" style=\"width: 740px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/20250830ride4relay1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-364264 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/20250830ride4relay1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"460\" srcset=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/20250830ride4relay1.jpg 740w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/20250830ride4relay1-300x186.jpg 300w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/20250830ride4relay1-269x167.jpg 269w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/20250830ride4relay1-285x177.jpg 285w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/20250830ride4relay1-340x211.jpg 340w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/20250830ride4relay1-263x163.jpg 263w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-364264\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The 2025 Ride 4 Relay cyclists head into Wondai Sportsground on Saturday, led by ride organiser Jason Wyeth<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>September 4, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ninth annual Ride 4 Relay has raised more than $43,000 for Cancer Council Queensland, with more dollars yet to roll in.<\/p>\n<p>The five-day cycle ride, which ended on Saturday afternoon, had a new format for 2025 but that didn&#8217;t make the task less gruelling for the 19 riders who took part.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of exploring a circular route around the South Burnett and camping overnight in different towns, the riders and their support crews were based at the Wondai Sportsground.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The cycled a total of 389km across the five days:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Day 1<\/strong> &#8211; Wondai to Cloyna, Boat Mountain, Murgon and back to Wondai &#8211; 85km<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Day 2<\/strong> &#8211; Wondai via Old Wondai Road to Booie then Memerambi, Wooroolin and back to Wondai &#8211; 74km<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Day 3<\/strong> &#8211; Wondai to Goomeri and Cherbourg and back to Wondai &#8211; 85km<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Day4<\/strong> &#8211; Wondai to Mt McEuen and Hivesville and back to Wondai &#8211; 85km<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Day 5<\/strong> &#8211; Wondai to Wooroolin and Gordonbrook and back to Wondai &#8211; 60km<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ride organiser Jason Wyeth said more funds would be raised on September 23 when two head of cattle will be auctioned by Aussie Land And Livestock at the Murgon Saleyards in Cattle 4a Cure.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A third beast will be raffled with four winners each receiving a meat tray containing a quarter of a beast, prepared by the Little Butcher in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n<p>The cattle have been donated by Pat Williams and Bill Johnston, both long-time supporters of the Ride 4 Relay.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is organised by two riding families. They have done this for the last five years which is amazing.
