{"id":36401,"date":"2013-06-17T23:16:01","date_gmt":"2013-06-17T13:16:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=36401"},"modified":"2020-09-17T11:52:49","modified_gmt":"2020-09-17T01:52:49","slug":"road-closed-for-bridge-tests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2013\/06\/17\/road-closed-for-bridge-tests\/","title":{"rendered":"Road Closed For Bridge Tests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>June 17, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>South Burnett Regional Council has advised that a section of Gayndah-Hivesville Road at Hivesville will be closed for four days from June 18 to allow assessment of the Sunday Creek Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>The closure will be between the junction at Wondai-Proston Road and Cridlands Road.<\/p>\n<p>A detour will be in place which will direct traffic from Gayndah-Hivesville Road via Wondai-Proston Road, then Proston-Abbeywood Road and Cridlands Road back to Gayndah-Hivesville Road. <\/p>\n<p>Signage will be in place to identify the detour route.<\/p>\n<p>The nature of the work is a geotechnical assessment of Sunday Creek Bridge which involves a drilling rig coring boreholes from the deck of the bridge as part of the bridge replacement project.<\/p>\n<p>A Council spokesman said the road closure was essential for undertaking the assessment work. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We understand that this temporary closure will inconvenience residents but it is the only arrangement that will enable the assessment works to be completed,&#8221; the spokesman said. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Council appreciates the patience and co-operation of residents on this road.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPDATED June 18: Council advised today that this road closure will be from June 18, not July 18 as advised.
