Police allegedly seized cocaine, MDMA, ketamine, magic mushrooms and cannabis from attendees heading to an underground “bush doof”\u00a0 held on a property near Nanango at the weekend.<\/p>\n

Toowoomba police joined officers from local stations to conduct more than 180 RBTs in the Smith Road area at Booie where the three-day “Rhythm Of The Wild” music event was held.<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said two people had been charged with drink-driving offences and two with unlicensed driving.<\/p>\n

Five adults had been charged with a total of 17 drug offences, involving various substances.<\/p>\n

Local residents took to social media to complain about noise coming from the weekend event, which police described as “unsanctioned”:<\/p>\n

“Mate enough, you kept us up until the wee hours this morning with your poor taste in music and to have it on blast again tonight is sending us all over the goddam edge\u2026. TURN IT OFF – some of us have health issues and actually need sleep\u2026”<\/em><\/p>\n

“Wow the duff duff rave music is louder than last night on Smith Road. I slept horribly last night but didn\u2019t complain, even tho I had to be up at 4:30am for work. Tonight tho I\u2019m tired after last night and I\u2019m cranky. How do we legally take on this issue. The police seem to be doing everything they can with breath test etc. This seems outside their control, I pay rates this rave does not, or at least I don\u2019t think it does, correct me if I\u2019m wrong. I\u2019d really like some sleep tonight, any ideas on how to get it?”<\/em><\/p>\n

The police spokesperson said the location of the event was only revealed to attendees after they had booked their tickets.<\/p>\n

It had caused “significant disruption” to the neighbourhood and police had to gather a response together in quick time.<\/p>\n

  • A 55-year-old Nambour man has been charged with six counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of possess S4 or S8 medicines, possessing a drug utensil and possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence.\u00a0He is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court Magistrates Court on October 10.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • A 32-year-old Redbank Plains man has been charged with three counts each of possessing dangerous drugs and one count of possessing a utensil.\u00a0He is due to appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on September 25.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • A 22-year-old Toowoomba woman was charged with three counts of possessing drugs. She was referred for drug diversion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        • A 42-year-old Maroochydore woman was charged with one count of possessing dangerous drugs.\u00a0She was also referred for drug diversion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
