South Burnett Regional Council has initiated a new access process for residents at the Memerambi Waste Transfer Station<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

August 15, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

An access card reader has been installed at the Memerambi Transfer Station to ensure only authorised residents can use the facility.<\/p>\n

A South Burnett Regional Council spokesperson said access would be limited to people who live within the Memerambi locality and parts of the Wooroolin locality.<\/p>\n

Users will scan the access card to enter and exit the facility.<\/p>\n

The card reader will be operational from Monday, August 25. Prior to that, members of the public authorised to access the facility will be provided with an access card.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The Memerambi waste transfer station has been open for some time and I thank the residents for being responsible in the usage of this facility,” Deputy Mayor Ros Heit said.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s a shame that we need to have cameras to ensure that some people don\u2019t dump illegally.<\/p>\n

“I encourage those that use this facility to apply at a council office for the swipe card prior to the gate being locked and I ask all residents to use the transfer station responsibly.”<\/p>\n

UPDATE August 22:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

South Burnett Regional Council has expanded the properties eligible for an access card.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Residents in the Memerambi, Wooroolin, Corndale, Crawford and Gordonbrook are now able to obtain an access card from Council’s Kingaroy office.<\/p>\n

During the first phase, only property owners were able to collect an access card but Council has now expanded this to tenants. Evidence of tenancy or residential address is required to be shown when collecting an access card (eg. a current electricity bill with address).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
