Expressions of interest are now open for 2026 appointments to the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Board.<\/p>\n

The Board is responsible for all public hospitals in the South Burnett as well as Toowoomba and throughout the Darling Downs Health area.<\/p>\n

Darling Downs Hospital and Health Board chair Dr Dennis Campbell said the board played an important role setting the strategic direction of the organisation and ensuring the effective delivery of care to communities across the region.<\/p>\n

Board Member Merrilyn Strohfeldt said she joined the board last year because after a lifelong career in health she wanted to give back to the community.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI love being responsible and accountable for how we deliver services that are world-class across the Darling Downs and making sure that our people are well looked after,\u201d Ms Strohfeldt said.<\/p>\n

The board is made up of diverse professionals from across the Darling Downs, with members coming together every month for two days to review the health services\u2019 performance.<\/p>\n

Ms Strohfeldt urged anyone who wanted to join the Hospital and Health Board to be clear about their experience and to be \u201cprepared for hard work\u201d.<\/p>\n

Expressions of interest will be open until September 7.<\/p>\n
