Three more riders cross the finishing line at Yarraman for the Festival Of Cycling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Successfully completing a 160km cycle trek along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail has to be something to celebrate, and the Yarraman community made sure that happened on Saturday.<\/p>\n

For the second year in a row, local volunteers and Wild Horse FM organised the Yarraman Festival to greet the riders with country hospitality as they rolled in.<\/p>\n

There were market stalls, music, food vans, dog high jumping, a petting zoo and even dogs available to be cuddled!<\/p>\n

This is the fifth time the Festival Of Cycling, which is organised by the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association (BVRTUA), has been held.<\/p>\n

Riders have the choice of three route lengths: 160km from Wulkuraka, 75km from Toogoolawah or 50km from Moore.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

All the rides finish at the Yarraman Rail Head in Station Park.<\/p>\n

A total of 241 riders registered for the 2025 event, including 131 who tackled the full 160km ride.<\/p>\n

The riders were supported along the ride with mechanical repairs, first aid and water stations.<\/p>\n

Paul Heymans, from the Somerset area, started the BVRTUA in 2014.<\/p>\n

He said the group had been running events on the full length of the rail trail since 2017, even before the “missing gap” between Toogoolawah and Moore was completed.<\/p>\n
