Busloads of students from local schools rolled into the annual the South Burnett Careers Market at TAFE\u2019s Kingaroy campus on Thursday.<\/p>\n

By midday, the free event had attracted students from Kingaroy and Nanango State High Schools, St Mary’s Catholic College, St John’s Lutheran School and Silver Lining at Ficks Crossing.<\/p>\n

There were also home-schooled students in attendance and quite a few adult community members exploring their job – or career-changing – options.<\/p>\n

Major local employers had a big presence, including Stanwell, the South Burnett Regional Council and Swickers \/ Sunpork.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sadly, the Peanut Company of Australia, which has always had a stall in previous years, was an noticeable absence this year.<\/p>\n

There were plenty of opportunities to gather information about the many TAFE Certificate and Diploma courses available as well as tertiary opportunities at universities.<\/p>\n

A robot dog, brought along by representatives from the University of Southern Queensland, proved to be popular (particularly when it turned on the media).<\/p>\n

There were also QAS paramedics on hand to share their experiences, police recruiters, firefighters and Australian Defence Force and Army Reserve personnel.<\/p>\n
