Nanango Business Alliance president Sharon Johnson is pleased with the results of Saturday’s delayed Heritage Christmas Carnival, but the not-for-profit group won’t be organising another one.<\/p>\n

Sharon told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> the Business Alliance hoped another community group would take over organisation of the 2025 Nanango Christmas Carnival, however, the Alliance would continue to organise Australia Day events.<\/p>\n

“It is just getting so hard to find volunteers,” Sharon said.<\/p>\n

Saturday’s “Christmas In July”, held at South Burnett Kart Hire, went ahead after bad weather last December forced the cancellation of original plans.<\/p>\n

Sharon said she had received a lot of positive comments from the community after Saturday’s event.<\/p>\n

There were 25 stalls in attendance, including 15 providing food. Estimates on the night suggested between 500 and 700 people had come through the gates.<\/p>\n

Sharon thanked Heritage Community Bank for their sponsorship as well as the South Burnett Regional Council which provided $1500 cash as well as in-kind support.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We had an amazing amount of sponsors for the ham wheel and raffles which is how we also raised the funds to cover the event,” Sharon said.<\/p>\n

The musicians also donated their time – Natalie Fenton, Amber Goldsmith, the Sat’n Suns and Amos Pellas – as well as compere Peter Thomson who led the sing-along karaoke.<\/p>\n

Sharon said South Burnett Kart Hire “was thrilled” with the response.<\/p>\n

“We gave a lot of advertising to a Nanango business which is what we had hoped to achieve,” Sharon said.<\/p>\n

The Nanango Business Alliance took over organisation of the Nanango Christmas Carnival last year from the Nanango Tourism and Development Association (NaTDA).<\/p>\n
