Tingoora artist Robyn Dower is sharing her “country side” in the latest exhibition at the Kingaroy Art Gallery, and it seemed a lot of people from around there were at the official opening on Friday night.<\/p>\n

Robyn’s exhibition, entitled “My Country Side”, attracted a good crowd, many from within the borders of the old Wondai shire.<\/p>\n

Robyn said the works had been inspired by her surroundings (she lives on a farm) and the South Burnett area.<\/p>\n

Her paintings and papier-m\u00e2ch\u00e9 sculptures take centre stage in the main gallery. It is the first time she has been featured in the Kingaroy Gallery.<\/p>\n

Robyn’s exhibition is only one of the highlights at the Kingaroy Gallery this month.<\/p>\n

In the Youth Gallery, entries from the South Burnett Regional Council’s recent Digital Art competition for young people are on display.<\/p>\n

In the Side Gallery, the Jumping Ants Art Group has new works by its members on show.<\/p>\n

In the Rear Gallery, South Burnett photographers Max Walters and Ivor Dimmock have been given the rare honour of having their exhibition of local photographs extended for an extra month due to public demand.<\/p>\n

The new “Shop 38” (named after the 1938 Chambers that houses the gallery) is also now open, with works by local artists and craftspeople available for sale.<\/p>\n

“My Country Side” and the other exhibitions will remain on show at the Kingaroy Art Gallery daily until the end of the month.<\/p>\n

Admission is free.<\/p>\n
