The Kingaroy Red Ants’ annual “Pink Day” fundraiser for the McGrath Foundation was as big – and as pink! – as ever last weekend.<\/p>\n

The fundraising began on Friday night with a booked out trivia night at the Ant Hill clubrooms at T.J. O’Neill Oval.<\/p>\n

Compere Damien Martoo took to the microphone again to guide the evening while the teams tackled(what we have been told were)\u00a0 very tough questions.<\/p>\n

The pink fun continued on Saturday with a full spread of junior games from Under 6s through\u00a0 Under 12s, filling the morning schedule.<\/p>\n

The on-field activities were accompanied by “pink” activities on the sidelines, including treats to buy, raffles and face-painting.<\/p>\n

The day was topped off in the best fashion for the club, with a win out on the field by the Red Ant’s A Graders over the Wondai Wolves, who also turned pink for the occasion.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy defeated Wondai 30-22 after leading 16-6 at half-time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pink Ants’ try scorers were Andre Woltmann (2), Chris Bond, Joshua Peterson, Mitch Bailey and Iona Varomusu. Chris Bond kicked three conversions.<\/p>\n

Wolves’ tries were scored by Damien Alphonse (2) , Jeremy Hobbs and Luke Hedges.\u00a0 Torren Anderton kicked three conversions.<\/p>\n

The second A Grade match was scheduled to between the Murgon Mustangs and the Cherbourg Hornets but for the second week in a row, Murgon was unfortunately forced to forfeit.<\/p>\n
