A 69-year-old man has been charged with going armed in public to cause fear and other offences after police were called twice to a Woolooga property this week.<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said information about an unregistered firearm led Goomeri and Kilkivan police to visit the Edwards Road property on Monday.<\/p>\n

They allegedly seized a rifle and ammunition.<\/p>\n

They were called back to the same property about 10:30am the next day after reports a man was damaging property with a weapon and shouting threats.<\/p>\n

When they arrived, police allegedly located a man with an axe handle.<\/p>\n

“A search was executed and police allegedly located and seized 1.124kg of cannabis,” the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

The bags of cannabis were allegedly located in a freezer at the property,<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Woolooga man was arrested at the scene and then charged with going armed in public, trespass and possession of dangerous drugs.<\/p>\n

He is due to appear in Gympie Magistrates Court on July 21.<\/p>\n
