Regional Tourism Development Officer Jules McMurtrie has bid farewell to local tourism operators in the latest issue of the Southern Queensland Country Tourism newsletter.<\/p>\n

Funding for her role, through Tourism and Events Queensland, will come to an end at the end of June.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s with exhaustion and appreciation I write this, to thank everyone for their assistance and support over the past 2.5 years,” Jules wrote.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve been responsible for development of the projects from the South East Queensland Country Tourism Opportunity Plan.”<\/p>\n

She said outcomes included<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Southern Queensland Country Regional Food & Wine Development Plan<\/li>\n
  • Regional Food Network and associated regional food brand<\/li>\n
  • The Savour Food, Wine and Touring mobile website<\/li>\n
  • Hand Made In Country, and the<\/li>\n
  • Bunya Action Group<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    “I trust you will take advantage of these new tools, if you haven\u2019t already,” she told operators.<\/p>\n

    “To create an inland route alternative, full of quality food, wine and handmade experiences has been the goal. Whether it\u2019s supporting local farmers and serving our beautiful fresh produce and wine, or engaging with an amazing artisan to create or offer a creative experience, I trust this will assist.<\/p>\n

    “My thanks go to both Southern Queensland Country Tourism for hosting the role and to all of the stakeholders across the regions for assisting with the development. It\u2019s been the best job ever.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
