Nanango’s State Emergency Service (SES) unit is the proud owner of a new response vehicle, thanks to the State Government’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund.<\/p>\n

The truck, which replaces the unit’s 2009 model Chevrolet Colorado, was officially handed over on May 12 in a small ceremony at the Nanango SES shed.<\/p>\n

Cr Jane Erkens said the South Burnett Regional Council was grateful to the area’s SES volunteers.<\/p>\n

“(We) are excited that they have received a vehicle fitted out with all the bells and whistles to provide effective operational responses during emergencies and natural disasters,\u201d Cr Erkens said.<\/p>\n

People interested in joining the SES have been invited to attend a training session – which are held every Monday night from 7:00pm – to learn more about SES operations.<\/p>\n
