SBRC)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>June 3, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The South Burnett Regional Council&#8217;s key operating document for the next five years, the 2025-30 Corporate Plan, was rubber-stamped at Council&#8217;s May general meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The new Corporate Plan was adopted by councillors after a Draft version was workshopped at nine community meetings held in towns and villages across the region during April and May.<\/p>\n<p>Local councils are required by law to produce a new Corporate Plan every five years to guide decision-making and the allocation of resources.<\/p>\n<p>Residents were invited to provide feedback on the Draft Plan online, on paper forms at Council&#8217;s Customer Service Centres and at the community meetings held at Wondai, Maidenwell, Blackbutt, Proston, Murgon, Durong, Kumbia, Nanango and Kingaroy.<\/p>\n<p>Council staff members were also given the opportunity to provide feedback.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The new Corporate Plan covers five key elements: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enhancing liveability and lifestyle,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Providing key infrastructure for towns and villages,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Growing the region\u2019s economy and prosperity,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Safeguarding the environment, and<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Organisational excellence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>It also spells out a new &#8220;vision&#8221; and &#8220;purpose&#8221; for Council:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Vision:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cAn organisation known for its exceptional customer service empowering employees to go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Purpose:\u00a0<\/strong> \u201cTo deliver the best possible outcomes for our customers, within the resources we have.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mayor Kathy Duff said she was excited with the new direction and was keen to have a more-customer focused organisation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Council is a service provider to our ratepayers and CEO Mark (Pitt) and I are keen to empower the staff to go the extra mile to support our customers,&#8221; Mayor Duff said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also discussed during the April and May community meeting were Draft Community Plans for each town.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These remained out for consultation until the end of May.<\/p>\n<p>They will be now be put to the June Council meeting for endorsement before another community review.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Kathy Duff said she would like to thank
