UPDATE 2: The boil water alert was lifted on Saturday morning\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

UPDATE 1: South Burnett Regional Council has repeated precautionary advice for all residents of Blackbutt to boil tap water used for drinking.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

This advice is to all residents in Blackbutt that are connected to the town potable water supply.<\/p>\n

The first round of microbial analysis results are clear and second round results will be completed early Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

Council will continue to work with the Drinking Water Supply Regulator and Queensland Public Health Unit to ensure public safety.<\/p>\n

Council will provide another update by 11:00am on Saturday, May 31, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

South Burnett Regional Council has issued precautionary advice for all residents of Blackbutt to boil tap water used for drinking.<\/p>\n

This advice is to all residents in Blackbutt that are connected to town potable water supply.<\/p>\n

Following a loss of water to the town\u2019s reservoirs, Council has restored the supply and continues to flush the network. Council recommends that residents boil their tap water as a precaution until further communication is provided from Council.<\/p>\n

Regular updates will be provided via Council\u2019s website and social media channels.<\/p>\n

People should use cooled boiled water or bottled water for:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Drinking
\n\u2022 Brushing teeth
\n\u2022 Preparing and cooking foods
\n\u2022 Washing raw foods such as fruit and vegetables
\n\u2022 Preparing beverages and making ice
\n\u2022 Preparing baby formula
\n\u2022 Sponge-bathing infants<\/p>\n

Unboiled drinking water can be used for:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Showering and bathing other than infants (avoid getting water in the mouth)
\n\u2022 Washing dishes by hand or in a dishwasher
\n\u2022 Washing clothes
\n\u2022 Flushing toilets<\/p>\n

People should bring drinking water to a rolling boil and then allow water to cool before using it or storing it in a clean, closed container for later use.<\/p>\n

Kettles with automatic cut-off switches are suitable for producing boiled water. Variable temperature kettles should be set to boil.<\/p>\n

Residents are urged to share this alert with neighbours and friends.<\/p>\n
