The delivery of turbine components to the Wambo Wind Farm construction has been paused in the wake of last Friday’s incident on the Warrego Highway.<\/p>\n

The component became jammed under the Mount Crosby Road overpass, blocking traffic and damaging both the highway pavement and the lower edge of the bridge.<\/p>\n

A Stanwell statement issued on Tuesday said Qube, the logistics company responsible for the transportation of the wind turbine components, the project\u2019s principal contractor Vestas, and police have all begun independent investigations into the incident.<\/p>\n

“The three components being transported as part of Friday\u2019s convoy have been delivered to site but all other turbine component deliveries from the Port of Brisbane to site have been paused,” the statement said. <\/strong><\/p>\n

“Cubico Sustainable Investments and Stanwell Corporation Limited, as joint venture owners of Wambo Wind Farm, expect robust assurance from our contractors that the root cause of the incident has been identified and any remediation actions required are in place before further trucking movements occur.<\/p>\n

“The safe and responsible delivery of turbine components is critical.<\/p>\n

“The wind turbine component itself is currently being stored near Ipswich. It will soon be moved to Wambo Wind Farm where a detailed inspection and assessment will be carried out by specialist technicians from Vestas.<\/p>\n

“Other onsite construction activities are continuing to progress well despite weather interruptions.”<\/p>\n
