South Burnett Saints marked Brooksy’s memorial round on Saturday with a thumping win over the Warwick Redbacks.<\/p>\n

When the full-time siren sounded, Saints were ahead 14.13-97 to 2.4-16.<\/p>\n

Saints’ goals were kicked by Fletcher Brown (4), Ryan Jacobs (4), Brad Pressnell (2), Corey Smith (2), Nathan Trace and William Packer.<\/p>\n

A good crowd turned out at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy to cheer on the local side in their first home game for 2025 in the Darling Downs AFL competition.<\/p>\n

It was an emotional day for the club’s many supporters and players.<\/p>\n

The Ben Brooks Memorial Day Cup Round is played in honour of a much-loved former player who died of cancer in 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Saturday’s game against Warwick was the fourth time the event has been held, with many memories of Ben being shared.<\/p>\n

At the end of the game, Ben Brooks Medals were presented\u00a0to a player from each team who had displayed Ben\u2019s \u201ccourage, determination and never-give-up attitude\u201d.<\/p>\n

Ben’s dad Darryl and sister Emily presented the medals to the Saints’ Nathan Brock and Warwick’s Luke Giacca.<\/p>\n

The day started with an Under 13.5s game between the Saints and Coolaroo.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Deegan Johannessen kicked a six-pointer for the Saints.<\/p>\n

The Saints’ next games are on May 24 at Lyle Vidler Oval against the Goondiwindi Hawks:<\/strong><\/p>\n
