The talented members of the Jumping Ant Arts collective have taken over the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery this month to explore the concept of “home”.<\/p>\n

The dozen artists have pieces on display that reflect their personal ideas of “home”, ie. peace, place, identity, acceptance, belonging, connection, landscape, spirit or sanctuary.<\/p>\n

Gallery visitors are also invited to add their own concepts which will be added to panels on display.<\/p>\n

The exhibition was officially opened on May 9 by Marietta Wetzig, from the South Burnett Support Alliance which co-ordinates a community project which offers a free meal once a week at the Salvation Army meeting place in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We are giving people a leg up which is making the South Burnett a better place for everybody,” Marietta said.<\/p>\n

“People in our community are struggling but we can’t judge them because we don’t know how they got there. We give them the space and the opportunity, and they know that someone cares.”<\/p>\n

Fran van Vegchel, from Jumping Ant Arts, said the collective had decided to support this worthwhile project by donating money raised from sales in Gallery 2 to the Alliance.<\/p>\n

A raffle would also be held in the gallery with funds going to the group.<\/p>\n

“AntFest 2025 – HOME”\u00a0 will remain on display at the gallery until May 29.<\/p>\n
