Not-for-profit support group IMPACT Community Services has launched a program in Kingaroy to help people living with mental health challenges to feel less isolated.<\/p>\n

Participants enjoy regular bike rides, nature walks and other social activities on the region’s trails.<\/p>\n

Last week, the bike group rode 30km along the South Burnett Rail Trail to Wooroolin, stopping for lunch along the way.<\/p>\n

IMPACT Peer Support Worker Luke Arnold said the group was building but he would love to see more people take part.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone has a lot of fun,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Luke said activities were tailored to meet group needs.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have bikes available, if a participant needs one, and we only ever go as fast and far as people are comfortable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Luke invited anyone who lives in the South Burnett – aged over 16 – who is interested in finding out more about the Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program to get more information online<\/b><\/a> or phone 1800-179-233.<\/p>\n

Self-referrals are welcome.<\/p>\n
