The three local LNP candidates will all be heading back to Canberra<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The three sitting LNP MPs in the Federal Electorates which cross the South Burnett have safely held on to their seats, despite a nationwide swing to Labor.<\/p>\n

By early in the counting on Saturday night, David Littleproud (Maranoa), Colin Boyce (Flynn) and Llew O’Brien (Wide Bay) all had clear margins.<\/p>\n

However, the LNP did suffer small swings against it.<\/p>\n

At 11:15am on Monday, the latest figures showed LNP’s first preference votes had dropped:\u00a0 in Wide Bay by 4.11 per cent,\u00a0 Maranoa 3.74 per cent and Wide Bay 0.34 per cent.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the election, Flynn had the slimmest margin, just 3.82 per cent while Maranoa (22.12 per cent) and Wide Bay (11.34 per cent) were very safe LNP seats.<\/p>\n

In Maranoa, LNP sitting member David Littleproud had secured more than 51.57 per cent of the vote.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It can be a lonely job handing out How To Vote cards when so many people have pre-voted!<\/strong><\/p>\n

It’s also not good news for school P&Cs and P&Fs looking to raise funds with democracy sausages or a cake and bake stall but several schools persisted with the tradition on Saturday, including Nanango State School and St John’s Lutheran School in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n
