April 24, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

The South Burnett Race Club will be holding its traditional Anzac Day Races at the Wondai Racecourse on Friday.<\/p>\n

The meeting is the 52nd Anzac Day meeting to be held at the course and is always popular after a morning of solemn commemorations around the region.<\/p>\n

The Anzac Day meeting is one of the biggest meetings the club holds every year and all the marquees are already booked out.<\/p>\n

Numbers will also be boosted by the many cyclists staying at the Wondai Sportsgrounds for the three-day “Weekend At Wondai” event organised by the South Burnett Rail Trail Users Association and Bicycle Queensland.<\/p>\n

As usual, the meeting will feature an on-course TAB, live telecasts of interstate races, an undercover betting ring, barbecue and bar.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The traditional Fashions On The Field competition will have a “Poppies and Pearls” theme, and guests who dress to it can be in the running for some great prizes.<\/p>\n

Gates will open at the track at noon; the bar will open at 1:00pm; and Race 1 will leave the barriers at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n

Admission is $10 and patrons should bring cash because there’s no ATM or EFTPOS available at the track.<\/p>\n
