Cooyar residents have been invited to “have a conversation” with Toowoomba councillors on Thursday (April 10) to share their ideas about the town and surrounding area.<\/p>\n

Mayor Geoff McDonald said the \u201cCommunity Conversations\u201d event was aimed at gathering local people\u2019s vision for their town.<\/p>\n

\u201cCooyar is one of our region\u2019s great townships and councillors want to hear from residents, property owners and businesses about their ideas for the area,\u201d Mayor McDonald said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to hear their aspirational ideas on ways to shape the development of the town and community.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an opportunity for the community to brainstorm their ideas with councillors and have a conversation about the future of Cooyar.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mayor McDonald said there would not be any pre-determined topics and the conversations would be informal.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Residents were invited to discuss any ideas that fell within Council\u2019s area of influence.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis event will help to give Council a better understanding of the community\u2019s needs and aspirations,\u201d Mayor McDonald said.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople will then have the opportunity to have their ideas recorded via giant notepads on tables inside the hall and to then have further conversations on specific topics with councillors,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll feedback will be collated for consideration by Council.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cCommunity Conversations\u201d event will be held at Cooyar and District Memorial Hall on Thursday, April 10, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
